Remakes of Favorite Card Layouts

We all have our favorite card layouts that we return to over and over again.  Today I’m sharing two remakes of favorite card layouts that I recently created. When a Stampin’ Up! catalog retires, I always sort through my sample cards and pull out the ones that use retiring product.  As I was sorting card samples from the recently retired 2017 Holiday catalog, I came across two card designs that I liked and… Read More »

If you’ve been visiting my blog for very long, card makeovers aren’t a new idea to you.  For me, it’s a challenge to makeover a simple card idea. The card I’m sharing today started out as a simple thank you card.  When I completed it, I LOVED the layout concept and decided to challenge myself to “take it up a notch”!! Here’s the original thank you card. DESIGN NOTES: The… Read More »

Handmade Greeting Card Makeover

It’s been awhile since I’ve tried a handmade greeting card makeover here on my blog.  And, since it’s been so long, I decided to share a card makeover project today. The beauty of a handmade greeting card makeover is that it allows me to use products I myself already own.  I don’t have to go out and buy anything new.  I can look at a card that someone else created and recreate it any… Read More »

Comfort Cafe Card Makeover

Welcome to my Saturday Card Makeover blog post, where I re-create a project I found using only Stampin' Up! products.  I'm running a bit late today in getting my post up.  This past week was my first week back at school and I've had some challenges getting back into the routine.  I have a very simple card to share with you today.  I've seen several cards that have a diagonal… Read More »

Masked Pumpkin Makeover

Welcome to my Saturday Card Makeover!!  With September (and fall) just around the corner, I decided to try this Masked Pumpkin makeover.  Again, I found the original in a Paper Crafts magazine (October 2008).  The designer was Lisa Dorsey and here's the original:   Remember, the goal is to recreate the card using ONLY Stampin' Up! supplies.  Here's a list of the products I used: Tangerine Tango card stock for… Read More »

Happy Birthday Card Makeover

It's Saturday, and that means it's time for another Saturday Card Makeover, and this time it's a birthday card. I used the Scallop Square Bigz Clear die and Big Shot to create the card base.  The Create A Cupcake stamp set was perfect for the job – bottom stamped in Crumb Cake and top stamped in Daffodil Delight (to look like buttercream frosting).  To get the lighter effect, I stamped… Read More »

Quick Card ReMake

Welcome to my Saturday Card Makeover, where I share a card idea I've found elsewhere and remake it using Stampin' Up! only products.  Today's card goes together quickly and is a great way to use up scraps of designer paper. I used scraps from the Comfort Cafe designer series paper.  I'm not a real fan of the Summer Starfruit color, but wanted to give it a chance.  Using the Comfort… Read More »

Saturday Card Makeover

Welcome to my Saturday Card Makeover, where I take a card idea and remake it using only Stampin' Up! products.  The purpose for these Saturday Card Makeovers is to show you how you can use WHAT YOU HAVE in recreating cards that you love. I found today's card idea in the Sept/Oct 2010 issue of PaperCrafts magzine.  Here's the original created by Lisa Henke: I followed the layout exactly, just… Read More »

Masculine Get Well Card

I liked the mascuine feel of today's Saturday Card Makeover.  It is sometimes difficult to find appropriate cards to send to men.   Here's my card makeover for today: What I find interesting about this card is that it uses a butterfly, but still looks masculine.  I think that's because of the colors used:  Soft Suede and So Saffron. Here's the card that was the inspiration for my card: I used… Read More »

Fluttering Butterfly Card Makeover

Good Morning, and welcome to my Saturday Card Makeover post.  I saw an absolutely delightful butterfly card that I knew would be perfect for Stampin' Up's! new Elegant Butterfly punch.  Here is the card I created: This card was a quick one to put together as well.  Colors used were all from the Brights family (except the Gumball Green, but I think if it were a regular Stampin' Up! color… Read More »

Another Fun Makeover Flower

Today's Saturday Makeover Card was a fun one for me to create.  I had originally seen a flower like this in Simply Cards magazine.  Here's what it looked like: I recreated it using Stampin' Up's! Color Collection Designer Paper…and every piece used was scrap.  I free-handed the stem, cutting from Wild Wasabi paper.  Leaves were punched with Bird Builder punch.  Designer paper circles were punched with 1 1/4" circle punch… Read More »
