Quick and Easy Handmade Guy Birthday Cards

I have had so many tell me that quick and easy handmade guy birthday cards are such a challenge to make.  I think that’s because most of us who make cards are women and we are geared toward “flowery and feminine”.  I know that’s true for myself.  In order for me to make a quick and easy handmade guy birthday card  I have to get out of my comfortable thinking… Read More »

“WOW” Card Making Projects from Expo

Earlier this month I held an “Expo” event with another demonstrator friend. This is an event geared toward experienced stampers where we present advanced projects using Stampin’ Up! products.  I’m sharing our projects here on my blog. This first card is a “Peek-a-Boo Window” card. This was a project I demonstrated and decided to use the “Hey Chick” stamp set (free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration). Here’s what the… Read More »

Unique Handmade Cards with Happy Celebrations

Stampin’ Up! has come up with a fun, new product that will help us in creating unique handmade cards to give to our friends and family.  The Celebration Duo Textured Impressions Embossing Folders (142760) are two embossing folders that create de-bossed image impressions.  So, instead of raising the embossed image on the card stock, these folders actually press the image (in this case a word) into the card stock.  And, this… Read More »

Watercolor Wings Watercolor Wash

Wow, it’s hard to believe that August is over…and also that today is the last day of sharing my Watercolor Wings projects.  I’ve really enjoyed giving you creative ways to use this Stampin’ Up! stamp set…and hope you’ve enjoyed it as well.  Today’s card is a combination of two cards that I saw on Pinterest and decided to try the ideas together.  It has a more masculine feel to it,… Read More »

Bohemian Borders meets For All Things

The Bohemian Borders stamp set in the 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! catalog coordinates with the Bohemian Designer Series Paper (138446), also found in the catalog.  Because of this, my first inclination when designing with this stamp set was to gravitate toward using the colors in the designer paper.  As I was completing my card projects, I suddenly realized that so many of them were made with the same color combinations over… Read More »

Big Day Birthday Cards

“Big Day” stamp set is certainly a fun one to turn to when you are in need of a handmade birthday card.  It is one of the Sale-A-Bration choices when you purchase $50 worth of Stampin’ Up! products, so the fact that the stamp set is FREE is also fabulous! My featured card is a PERFECT masculine card…and we all know how difficult those types of cards are to create!!… Read More »

I love the acorn image that is in the “For All Things” stamp set.  I… Read More »

SUOC goes Masculine

Quite often I hear that cards for guys (a.k.a. masculine cards) are hard ones to make.  Well, masculine cards are the current challenge at SUO Challenges.  I used the Magnificent Maple stamp to create my man card. Project details: Natural Ivory card stock was used as the card base. The background leaf was created using the “stamping off” technique. Soft Suede is the ink and card stock color used. Sentiment… Read More »

Open Seas Anchors Away!

I made this card using the Open Seas stamp set several months ago, but have never shared it on my blog.  I think that I may have seen this idea elsewhere, so the card idea isn’t original with me.  However, doesn’t it make a great masculine card??  Just a note…the Open Seas stamp set is a great one to use for making those ever difficult masculine cards!! Here are the… Read More »
