The card I'm sharing today was inspired by Mary Brown and it's the second graduation theme card available at my May Card Buffet. However, this card certainly isn't limited to graduation. It could be used for any occasion that "Congratulations" is in order!
The stars were created using the retiring Stars #2 die for the Big Shot. I also used the Stripes embossing folder. The sentiment is heat embossed with silver embossing powder. 3/8" Black Tafetta ribbon was also used.
Graduation season is upon us!! Over the next two days, I'll be sharing two cards available in my May Card Buffet event that were graduation themed.
Today's card was quick and easy to create. Designer paper used was from the Twitterpated collection. Sentiment is from the Loving Thoughts stamp set, which, by the way, will be carried over into the new catalog. Also used were the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch and Basic Glimmer Brads.
The banner end was created using the 1 1/4" square punch. I have a short video to show you how I did it.
Here's a Graduation Card that is a fun way to give a gift of money. The piece on the right inserts into the sleeve on the left. Money tucks under the scallop circle on the right piece. The scallop piece also catches in the circle slots on the sleeve to keep in place.
Details of card: Basic Black, Whisper White and Brushed Silver card stock; Classic Stars wheel; Basic Gray ink; Teeny Tiny Wishes (sentiment); 1/8" Basic Black Tafetta Ribbon, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle punch
That's it for today. Thanks for stopping. Have fun stampin' it up!
Here's a graduation card that my local customers created at one of my monthly events.
This is a quick and simple card to create. The sentiment is from Curly Cute stamp set, stamped in Basic Gray ink onto Very Vanilla card stock. Card base and sentiment matte is Basic Black. Hat is created using the Designer Label punch for the hat base and a 1 1/2" diagonal square for the top (an idea I found on someone else's blog). I hand cut the tassel from a scrap of Brushed Gold card stock and attached with a glitter brad. The ribbon is 1/4" Very Vanilla grosgrain. I used Very Vanilla card stock run through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice impressions folder for the image base.
If you need to create graduation cards, try this one (or a variation of it). Materials can be found on my order site.
