Wedding Bells

Today we are attending a wedding...my nephew and his bride.  The weather is forecast to be clear and near 60...a treat this time of year in Minnesota!!

Here's the card that I created for their special occasion.

I've been seeing and admiring lots of white on white cards lately, so decided to make their wedding card white on white.  It gives such a fresh look.  Everything on the card is Stampin' Up! except for the punched hearts border.

Forever and Always!

Wouldn't this make a wonderful wedding or anniversary card?  I absolutely adore this image from the Take it to Heart stamp set...and it combines so well with the sentiment found in the Loving Thoughts stamp set.  Both can be found in the Occasions Mini Catalog.

The only thing on this card that isn't Stampin' Up! is the ribbon, which I just happened to discover in my stash.  It is a very lightweight ribbon, and I was debating how to attach it to my card.  The adhesive would show, no matter what.  I settled on using a piece of a Big Shot Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet. I simply peeled back a small piece of protective covering, lay the riboon on top of the sticky adhesive, lay the protective covering back down over the ribbon and trimmed it off the large piece.  Once I got the ribbon off the large sheet, I trimmed the edges of the mutlipurpose adhesive sheet next to the ribbon.  It worked wonderfully to hold the ribbon on my card.

Inispiration is all around!

SUOC - Spring or Autumn

Today's SUO Challenge is to create a card for Spring (or Autumn for those in the Southern Hemisphere).  Nothing says spring to me more that seeing my first robin.  In fact, my mom and I have always had a friendly rivalry every spring over who sees the first robin.  This spring I was the winner!!

I used Riding Hood Red and Pool Party card stock on this card...the red reminded me of the color on the breast of Mr. Robin, and the blue reminds me of the color of robin's eggs.  The robin image is from Nature Walk and I stamped it on water color paper.

Card Emergency

Do you ever have those times when you need a card QUICKLY?!!  Well, here's an idea for those moments...a card that goes together lickety split.

Cut a 8 1/2 x 11" piece of colored card stock into four pieces that measure 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  Cut a 8 1/2" x 11" piece of Whisper White or Very Vanilla card stock into four pieces that measure 4" x 5 1/4".

Stamp your image onto the corners of the Whisper White or Very Vanilla using an ink that coordinates with your card stock color.  Add a sentiment if desired.  There's plenty of room to write a personal message, and this card will fit perfectly into an A2 size envelope.

In fact, as a way to always be prepared, cut a small stack of Whisper White or Very Vanilla pieces to have ready to go.  You could also have a stash of cut colored card stock on hand, so all that would be needed would be to stamp them.

SUOC Going Green

Today at SUO Challenges, we were given the challenge to use green on our creation. Here's what I came up with.

This whole card started with the green hearts, which I had punched out with the intent of creating a shamrock.  They wound up on a piece of Twitterpated Designer Paper that was cut using the Perfect Pennants die with my Big Shot.  I then threaded some Very Vanilla 1/4" Tafetta ribbon through the holes created from the die.  I created the narrow green circle using the 1 3/4" circle punch and the 2" circle on the Circles die for the Big Shot. 

The designer paper border was made with the Tasteful Trims die for the Big Shot.  Sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.
